This is the second part of my snowflake maze series. I originally intended on releasing both snowflake mazes at the same time but as you’ll see below I had to restart this maze. This is a continuation of my pattern mazes where I repeat the images in a pattern. I will release more of these periodically because it’s a nice break from the more detailed mazes. As you’ll see in this maze I included rules to make the maze more of a game and will add this element to other mazes moving forward. If you complete the maze please list how many snowflakes you were able to pass through in the comments below and we’ll see who can get the record.

As I mentioned above I had to restart this maze because I ran into the biggest enemy of my mazes… WATER! I am very careful to not put drinks in the work area and put away the maze when I’m not working on it but I was doing a home repair and wasn’t careful. Lesson learned.. I won’t fix any more bathroom sinks.

One drop of water ruined the work completed. Luckily I wasn’t that far into this maze.

Below is the second time-lapse video I made of me creating this snowflake maze. I was able to do more of the planning off camera so the end product is more smooth than the previous video. This video is sped up to around 50 times the actual time. Hopefully this will inspire others to create mazes of their own. I am considering making an instructional video with my kids if anyone has any interest let me know.

  2. So everyone knows. Our head tester at Hilbert’s Mazes got back to me. The record for the snowflake mazes is 14 snowflakes so far. I think that can be topped.

  3. Wow! This is amazing! I had a friend in middle school who loved to make full-page mazes (during class time! ha) that he would share with the rest of us. I was just as awe-struck then as I am now. Blessed to be your neighbor this week at #LMMLinkup!
