You know it’s fall when you start to see pumpkins for sale. One of my favorite memories from childhood was heading to the pumpkin farm to pick out the perfect pumpkin. I wanted to pay homage to that memory with my latest maze.
As a kid, I would plan what jack-o-lantern I intended to cut for weeks. It was a great distraction to doodle various designs for my pumpkin carving then to think through how to execute it.
Nowadays one of our favorite family activities is to cut our pumpkins for Halloween. My kids have the same love for intricate designs as I do. Typically I try to pick the most difficult design from the Pumpkin Masters book. It should come as no surprise that I like the most tedious and detailed design I can do and my kids are following in my footsteps.
This maze is essentially a combination of a landscape maze and a pattern maze. My ski gondola maze is a good example of a landscape maze. If you want to see examples of pattern mazes check out my snowflake or fishing lures mazes.
Below are some of the sketches and color tests I created while planning this maze. I went though several layouts and variations in the design of this maze before I settled on the final layout.
If you are a game lover and are looking for something fun to do with your friends check out my review of the Hunt A Killer Murder Mystery game. My wife and I love shows like Dateline and 48 Hours and this was a really fun activity to do with friends. Here’s my review if you would like to check it out.

Do you actually draw these yourself? Wow, this is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing. My granddaughter loves them. Please pass the word about Show off Tuesday, so all can take advantage and your pumpkins can get passed around too. Also, don’t forget to take advantage of the give-aways and reviews! Thank you so much! Have a great day!
Thanks so much for the kind words. I draw each one by hand. It’s very therapeutic for me. I’ll make sure to share Show off Tuesday with everyone.
Your mazes are a-maze-ing! I’m sure I’m not the first person to say that, sorry!
Don’t apologize. I love a good pun. For a while every maze had a pun in the instructions but it became too hard to come up with new ones.
I love this maze! My teenager likes to do things like that, so I will be printing it off for him!
Wonderful. I hope he enjoys them and I’d love some feedback
This is amazing, I wish I could draw half as well as you. Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us at the Creative Muster. Looking forward to seeing what you’ll be sharing next week. Pinning!
