Now that summer is here I wanted to create a maze to pay homage to one of my favorite summer activities…. FISHING! This is based of an actual item that hangs in my basement man cave. One day my father in-law showed up with a box of vintage lures that he had for over 50 years and he didn’t know what to do with them. I thought they looked so cool that I mounted them on a board and hung them in the man cave‘s bathroom.

This maze allowed me to have fun playing with colors. I was able to use a ton of different combinations of marker and colored pencil. All of my mazes start out as a pencil sketch and then are filled in with markers. Once the maze is completed I fill in the colors with colored pencils then scan into the computer to turn into a PDF format.

This maze is similar to other pattern mazes I created previously where I was able to incorporate an additional game element. In this maze the more fishing lures you can pass through when completing the maze the more points you earn. This makes the maze more challenging and if can pass through all sixteen lures you’ll get a perfect score.

If you want to check out some of my other pattern / game mazes check out my Snowflake, Gondola or Circuit Board mazes. All of these mazes have an additional game element to add some difficulty to the puzzles.
