Most people in the country fall into one of two categories for Christmas tree preferences… you are either a real Christmas tree or an artificial Christmas tree family.
Since I didn’t want to leave either camp out I created a maze for both. I know both sides feel strongly over whether it’s worth the hassle of lugging a dead tree into your house or should you just assemble the plastic replica so I figured I would let everyone pick for themselves.
Both of these mazes have an added challenge to make them harder. With the patent maze you have to pass through the Fig. boxes and with the real tree maze you have to pass through the ornaments.

For the “fake” tree maze I decided to find a patent that I thought looked cool and turn it into a maze. I have no idea why I like patents so much but they definitely make great mazes. I found this patent on Google Patents and if you haven’t been to this site you’re missing out if you love patents like I do. Here’s the link to the original patent in case you’re interested. This is also the first black and white maze that I’ve created for this website.
Below is a timelapse video of me creating the Christmas tree patent maze. This video is sped up 40 times normal speed so you can see how the maze is created.
For the “real” tree I wanted it to have a Victorian feel and I played around with the branch patterns quite a bit before I started on the maze. The tree branches are a ton of fun to make and I am definitely going to make more Christmas tree mazes in the future.
