I created this maze for two main reason. The first is that we are planning a big family trip to the UK and Ireland this summer. The other reason is because my daughter completed a school project on the Aran Islands and fell in love with the Puffin bird. Two of the places we are going to visit during our Ireland trip are the Aran Islands and the Cliff of Moher. This maze allowed me to combine both of those adventures into one and showcase the very cute Puffin.

You’ll notice the end to this maze is convoluted. The reason for this is because I had originally tried to incorporate a word puzzle into the maze but as I was testing the game it confused everyone (yes, you can pass through the Ireland letters). I ended up abandoning this idea and going back to a basic maze. I will still work on incorporating other puzzles in my future mazes but I learned many valuable lessons from this failure.

While working on this maze I came up with a cool new portable light board by combining two of my tools that I use into one. This is some Serious Rub Goldberg stuff and it’s always the simplest solutions that are my favorite.
